It’s August 15 again! I can’t believe I’m already 21 but first of all I really wanted to thank all my supportive readers, followers, social media friends, BFFs and my family for being the sweetest. I am so overwhelmed with all the greetings. Actually, I am on leave today at work so I could spent some time tick all what’s on my birthday bucketlist. Scroll down to see what’s on my list:
- DIY travel with family.
I was the one incharge in everything during our HongKong-Macau trip last May – itineraries, hotel accommodation and piso fare booking. It was a little bit hassle on my part since I took over all the responsibilities of this trip but it was indeed a self-fulfilling task after I saw the full smile of my family.
- Be a Clozette Ambassador.
I owe the success of my blogging career to Lystra Aranal and http://www.Clozette.co.
- Dye my hair!
I always wanted a new look/hairstyle every year on my birthday month or earlier but to undergo bleaching was never came across on my mind because my mom would probably freak out. Bleaching isn’t really good for hair because it causes dryness but I really wanted to achieve the level 2.0 look of Jamila and I have that full trust to my partnered salon, Hairshaft together with my hairstylists Fred, Miguel and Carl that they will take good care of my hair and be from free from hair damage.
- Start my own business and wear something I have made.
It’s been a dream for me to put up my own business hand in hand most especially related to fashion. Just last July when I officially announced my clothing line online and on November I’ll be having my first bazaar. For now, you can see my collections on Clothing by Jamila’s official social media sites:
- Nightlife and be able to attend a music festival.
Anything that correlates to the word nightlife isn’t a good idea to my parents so everytime I do attend gatherings which falls at night, it makes my mom freak out. I must say every hour she will make a call to check up on me.”Where are you? Whom are you with? “, these are just few from my mom’s questions over the phone but since I have a different career now and I am already getting older, limitations were reduced.
As for music festival, just last summer I just had my first ever music festival collaboration (this is the event I’ve been waiting for so long) which is the CloseUp Forever Summer held in MOA Concert Grounds.
- Ear Piercing
Happy happy birthday to me! Again, thank you to everyone who remembered my special day.
It’s been a week since I turned adult but I can’t keep imagining myself that I am still a teenager as things hasn’t synced in yet in my mind. How I wish I’m still a teenager so I could still do things I wasn’t able to do during my teenage years but okay no turning back. I just remember when I was a teenager, I didn’t go out that much with my friends and barkadas late at night even if it’s a school activity/event until now that I am already working except for night duties/operations because there’s a curfew type of rule in our house that’s why whenever me and my friends/classmates have a project to finish I make it a point to finish it as early as possible or I always make an alibi or excuse so I won’t be in a big trouble at home or I’ll just call my parents to fetch me up so they won’t be nervous on me. But that kind of rule made me ready for college as I became more responsible and well-disciplined daughter and somehow it challenged my tactic skills.
So for all teenagers out there here’s a piece of advice from your ate Jamila, don’t rush things and make every single day worthy as possible. JUst have fun but that fun has also limits and please do take note at that. And for the 20s and above all I can advice is no turning back and turn that as a lesson so you won’t regret the next time.
As per my outfit, obviously it’s pastel again. I am just so inlove with candy colored clothes and since it’s all about my birthday i wanted something that goes with my vibe which is happy and bright. I opted to wear longsleeves during that day because of the gloomy weather and that longsleeves is one of my favorite because of the heart patches which is very girly and very me.And for my skirt, I tried to pair my top with a neoprene floral printed skirt which is not too short nor too long so I won’t look too small. What do you think? Yay or nay? Feel free to comment 🙂

I really don’t know if I would be happy that I am already turning 20 in just few weeks but all I know is that the month of August really makes me happy and excited as this is also my dad and my brother’s birth month so it’s a triple celebration and a triple cheat day. I am not ready to say goodbye to teenage life but of course I have to accept the truth that time really do flies so fast just like a snap. It’s time for me to move on to another chapter of my life. I am just so grateful to the Almighty that I am now a degree holder at the age of 19 and right after graduation I was able to find a job. All I am wishing for my birthday is to celebrate my day with my family and have always a good day at work. Sharing my 20th birthday celebration on my next blog so keep updated.
